Blackheath was a really large scale project for me. The owners are longstanding clients of nearly 13 years and they approached me to help them with a weatherboard house they had purchased as a holiday home. We ripped out the old kitchen and bathrooms and opened up some of the rooms, removing dividing walls that had been added over the years to create more bedrooms etc that gave some areas a rabbit warren feel.
It is a charming house, with a really lovely established garden. The owners have spent a lot of time in Paris and wanted to a country house with a French sensibility. We used a palette of soft greys, washed blues and deep, earthy browns to create warm and elegant spaces in which to cook and curl up with a book. Obviously these are construction shots…the house is finished and there have been rugs and paintings added and hopefully I will get back there soon with a photographer who can do it justice!
