European trip: London

It’s been such a long time since I blogged, am feeling a bit guilty…. My husband and I went on the most incredible trip – England, Barcelona in Spain, Prague in Czech Republic and then Ephesus and Istanbul in Turkey. We were away for a month, just the two of us visiting family, friends and cities – completely inspiring.
I thought I would start at the beginning in England…
I went to the Chelsea Design Centre http://www.dcch.co.uk, great for an overview. I loved seeing the range of Ann Sacks tap ware, Porta Romana and Original BTC lighting. The design book shop is wonderful, lunch not too bad either -local colour in the form of glamorous, West London mummies desperately trying to interest surly teenage daughters in fabric swatches.
Stopped in at the Rug Company, an old favourite and then went onto the wonderful Tom Dixon showroom at Portobello Dock. We had lunch at the Dock Kitchen, really terrific and worth going to.
Borough Markets were wonderful, forgive me for being so food centred but I have to admit to a great bias!
Go to Elliot’s Cafe at the Markets, inexpensive tapas style, small plates – WONDERFUL. A bit further across London, in Brixton Market, there is a fabulous Thai restaurant, again well worth a visit…
